PNMSj Java Web Start is the Java Web Start deployment for the PNMSj client application, using Sun Microsystems’ Java Web Start (JNLP) technology. It lets users launch PNMSj directly from a web link without a traditional installer. On first run, it downloads and caches the required Java components, manages version checks and updates, and starts the application in a controlled Java environment. This approach simplifies distribution, provides cross‑platform access, supports desktop shortcuts, and uses standard Java signing and permissions to help maintain security. A compatible Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is required. Note: Java Web Start was discontinued in later Java SE releases; environments that still launch PNMSj via JNLP typically rely on a legacy JRE or a compatible replacement such as OpenWebStart.

PNMSj Java Web Start is developed by Oracle. The most popular version of this product among our users is 6.0. The names of program executable files are javacpl.exe, javaws.exe.
